Summer Stitch Along

Thank you for all the love shown on my embroidered Blue Magic pillow! I enjoyed the stitching so much that I have decided to stitch another panel over the summer and would love some company. Won’t you join me?!

It is a great opportunity to carve out some creative time for yourself this summer. We will explore a different hand embroidery stitch each week in a low key, casual, and relaxed stitch along. You can sign up to receive the weekly instructions and video tutorials. Click on the image below to get on the list. The fun begins on June 1st.

Here is the overall schedule:

Week 1 - June 1st - Kick off!!! Gather and Prep - You'll need fabric for stitching, an embroidery hoop, threads/floss, needle, and scissors. We will gather our supplies and discuss our overall stitching plan.

Week 2 - Backstitch

Week 3 - Lazy Daisy stitch (detached chain stitch)

Week 4 - Chain Stitch

Week 5 - French Knots

Week 6 - Whipped Backstitch

Week 7 - Raised Chain Stitch

Week 8 - Stem Stitch

Week 9 - Fly Stitch

Week 10 - Buttonhole Stitch

Week 11 - Satin Stitch

Week 12 - Pistil Stitch

Week 13 - Woven Wheel Stitch

Week 14 - August 31st - Finishing steps - make into pillow, tote bag, or framed art

 I will again be stitching on the Blue Magic fabric panel using Eleganza 5wt Perle cotton threads. You may choose to embroider something else.

If you want to use the fabric and threads that I will be stitching with, you can purchase a kit with the fabric, threads, hoop, and needles here. If you want to use your own threads and only need the fabric panel, you can find that here.

The stitch along is free to join and appropriate for all skill levels, even beginners. I will post weekly videos to demonstrate each stitch and explain where I will be stitching that particular stitch on my fabric. I have set up a Community where we can post and share our progress too. It's going to be so much fun!
