Week 2 - Summer Stitch Along

This is the week we get to start stitching! The link to Week 2's video can be found here on YouTube and in the Community. I want to welcome those who joined in the stitch along after the first week's newsletter and video went out. (You can find Week 1's video here.)

This week's stitch is the backstitch - a very basic, but versatile stitch. The video walks you through the stitch, step by step. Because this is the first week of actual stitching, I also explain how to thread your needle, tie a quilter's knot, and place the fabric in your embroidery hoop. After demonstrating the stitch, I talk about where I applied the backstitch on my fabric panel and share the color of the thread used. This information is shared for those who indicated they want to stitch along exactly as I stitch. Feel free to use that information as a guide or ignore it completely! 

Whatever you decide, I encourage you to share your stitching on social media, in the Community, and/or by emailing me a picture. Please tag me (Craft.Table.Orlando and/or ReneCreates on Instagram) and use the hashtag #SummerEmbroideryStitchAlong so we can encourage each other. If you are stitching on the Blue Magic panel, the designer has asked that you tag her on Instagram (Carolynj)when sharing pictures of her fabric.
