New EPP Project
I started a new English Paper Piecing project! This idea has been percolating for a while now. I am using these shapes and my stash of Carolyn Friedlander fabrics.
I typically prefer to thread baste, but this time I am giving glue basting a try. For one thing, all the shapes will be stitched together (no appliquéing on background squares) so I don’t need to worry as much about keeping the shapes “in shape” when removing the papers. The second reason I am glue basting is because of the long angles on the one side.
The shapes are for a four pointed star, but I am going with a different, simpler design. Below you can see a few pairs stitched together and placed in rows as I work on how I want the blocks laid out.
This project has traveled with me on a few short trips recently. It’s really easy to baste/stitch on the go when all the supplies are organized!
**Supplies Used:
4” x 5” fabric rectangles - Carolyn Friedlander from my stash
Sewline Glue Pen (and lots of refills) for glue basting
Aurifil 80wt thread for stitching shapes together
SewTites for holding shapes together while stitching
Sew Fine Thread Gloss for keeping the thread smooth while stitching
